This is a focused, hands-on paid training track designed for candidates who want to build a rock-solid foundation in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. You will work in a safe, structured environment alongside seasoned tradespeople, mastering the baseline technical skills, safety protocols, and mechanical concepts needed to step confidently into a full-scale union apprenticeship or field career.

What You Will Learn (Curriculum Focus)

  • Safety Standards & EPA Awareness: Master OSHA job site safety compliance, proper personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, and foundational refrigerant safety concepts.

  • Trade Tools & Equipment Mastery: Learn the professional usage, care, and maintenance of specialized meters, gauges, recovery equipment, and hand tools.

  • Thermodynamics & Electrical Basics: Understand the basic refrigeration cycle, low-voltage wiring, and electrical schematic reading.

  • Installation & Maintenance Mechanics: Assist with ductwork preparation, components assembly, air filtration swaps, and routine system troubleshooting.

  • Blueprints & Technical Specs: Learn to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, layout drawings, and system operation manuals.

Requirements

  • Technology: Must own and operate a modern smartphone capable of running field logistics, safety tracking, and learning management apps.

  • Physical Capability: Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work comfortably in tight spaces or changing physical environments.

  • Transportation: Reliable transportation to commute daily to designated fabrication shops, training hubs, and active project locations.

  • Background Screening: Pass a standard safety and background check for secure facility and site access.
